Initial Teaching certificate by e-mail
While there are several colleges that offer programs that lead to a teaching license for work completed on the web, there is only one that TIS has located that has a program that leads to a teaching license for work completed by e-mail alone. That college is Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona. Prescott College is an accredited institution and their teacher education program has been approved by the Arizona Department of Education. It is possible that an MK teacher who needs or desires a teaching credential can obtain one by attending one seminar on Prescott's campus and the rest of the work by e-mail. Student teaching can even be done overseas. The state of Arizona requires a series of tests once course work is completed and before a teaching license is granted.
