Testimony Letter #3

"Here's a short summary of how boarding school impacted our mininstry.

"Sorry Steve wasn't able to do this, he would probably do a better job! We're on our way to US for furlough and then a move to Kijabe, so we are swamped with other things! So I'm summarizing for him! In Him, Sherri

"We served for almost 8 years in Zambia in a rural "bush" hospital. We homeschooled our children all of that time. Jessica, our oldest, left for RVA when she reached grade 9 and is currently in grade 11 at RVA. It was a huge adjustment for me as her mom and equally so for her dad. We never thought we'd send our kids to boarding school, but when we found ourselves in a remote place without peers for her to interact with and no opportunities for sports and other social activities, we felt that RVA was a good option for these things. Jessica has enjoyed RVA a lot. She has made great friends, enjoyed quality teachers, has learned from experiences with dorm parents, and overall has had a very positive experience at RVA.

"Without this option, we would have left the field 3 years ago and Mukinge Hospital would have been without a medical director at a very crucial turning point in the history of the hospital. Because we did have this option, we were able to see the hospital through its next transition stage and have left it with a Zambian director, a Zambian administrator, and Zambian financial director. There are many other Zambians now in leadership positions with hearts for the Lord and the spread of the gospel through health care. Without someone to lead this critical transition period in equipping the national church, Mukinge would not be where it is now with capable Zambians now running this church hospital. What a privilege it was to be a part of this process thanks to RVA and the blessing they have been to our oldest daughter."
