Faith International Academy maintains joint international accreditation with the Western Association of School & Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The Philippine Department of Education fully recognizes FIA.
Faith International Academy offers a K-12 international, Christian curriculum based upon the American system with Korean Studies, and Advanced Placement options. FIA also offers vocational, visual and performing arts opportunities to provide a well-rounded education.
FIA is a quality, international, Christian school that exists primarily to serve the families in Christian ministry through meeting the educational needs of their children. FIA is in partnership with Christian sending agencies sponsoring missionary staff to the school.
2018-2019 School Year
Secondary English Teachers (grades 6-12)
FIA is seeking at least two trained, dedicated, and enthusiastic English teachers. The high school
position would teach a variety of courses in grades 9-12, from freshmen to the AP level (if possible).
The middle school position would teach literature, and possibly grammar and writing, for grades 6-8.
Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2
years of experience is preferred.
Secondary Social Studies Teacher (grades 6-8; grades 9-12 electives or AP)
FIA is seeking a trained teacher for middle school social studies (grades 6-8), who may also be willing
to teach a high school elective or AP social studies course. Middle school social studies courses
include world studies, Greek/Roman and medieval history, and American history. Flexibility to teach
other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is
Elementary Teachers (various in grades K-5)
FIA is seeking trained elementary teachers willing to teach lower or upper elementary (grades K-5). A
classroom teacher is responsible for teaching Bible, language arts (reading, writing, spelling, and
grammar), math, science, and social studies. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is
Secondary Bible Teacher (grades 6-12)
FIA is seeking an enthusiastic Bible teacher with the flexibility of teaching middle (grades 6-8) and
high school (grades 9-12). Courses range from testament or book overviews to doctrine and
apologetics. Bible training and a love for students are crucial to this role. Flexibility to teach electives
is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
Secondary World Languages (Spanish, French, German, etc.) (grades 9-12)
FIA is seeking trained teachers for our world languages and culture courses in the high school
division. In recent years, four levels of Spanish and French have been offered, but the school
curriculum is flexible to incorporate other languages as well (i.e., German, Korean, Japanese, Latin,
etc.). Courses would be taught in English with the goal of non-native speakers learning a foreign
language. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
Music Teacher (vocal/instrumental) (K-12)
FIA is seeking visionary, enthusiastic music teachers for our K-12 school. Areas of need include
elementary general music classes (grades K-5) and vocal and/or instrumental opportunities at the
secondary level. Specific position expectations would be coordinated with the FIA administration
based on the teacher’s background, expertise, and desire. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of
experience is preferred.
PE Teacher (K-12)
FIA is seeking 1-2 energetic and dynamic physical education teachers for our K-12 school. Areas of
need include elementary PE (whole class, twice weekly), middle school PE (co-educational classes of
around 15 students meeting twice per week), and high school PE (co-educational classes of around
20-25 students meeting daily for a semester). Specific position expectations would be coordinated
with the FIA administration based on the teacher’s background, expertise, and desire. Flexibility to
teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of
experience is preferred.
Secondary Computer/Technology Teacher (grades 9-12)
FIA is seeking a creative, motivated computer teacher for the high school division (grades 9-12).
Current course offerings in computer/technology are limited, so this is a great position for those who
want to help expand the program. Specific position expectations would be coordinated with the FIA
administration based on the teacher’s background, expertise, and desire. Flexibility to teach other
courses, such as Bible or electives, is a benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is
Special Education Teacher/Coordinator (K-12)
FIA is seeking a nurturing, qualified teacher to teach our students with learning differences. This
position also includes collaboration with other instructional staff to provide the best education
possible for each of our students. Flexibility to teach other courses, such as Bible or electives, is a
benefit. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
English Language Learner Teacher (K-12)
FIA is seeking a nurturing, committed teacher for our English Language Learners. Many of FIA’s
students speak English as a second (or possibly third) language. This teacher would provide critical
help to our students struggling with English. This position would also include collaboration with and
training of other instructional staff in effective strategies for ELLs. A trained teacher with 1-2 years of
experience is preferred.
FIA is seeking a librarian to serve in the high school library under the supervision of our current
librarian who oversees the K-12 library. This role would include circulation, book care, collaboration
with the head librarian on book purchases and future library plans, coordination with high school
teachers for reading incentives, and possibly monitoring some high school study halls. A second
librarian would provide trained library staff in both libraries. This would also allow for some on-the-
job training to become the head librarian in a few years when the current librarian retires. A trained
librarian with 1-2 years of grade school experience is preferred.
SUPPORT POSITIONS (NON-INSTRUCTIONAL)
FIA is a member of ISAC (International Schools Activities Conference), which consists of other
similarly-sized international schools in the Philippines. FIA is seeking a creative, organized, and
energetic athletic director to coordinate our three secondary sports seasons (for students in grades
6-12): men’s and women’s volleyball, men’s soccer (football) and women’s basketball, and men’s
basketball and women’s soccer (football). Coordinating sport opportunities for our elementary
students could also be part of this position. Responsibilities include appointing and managing
coaches, scheduling games and tournaments, coordinating referees, ensuring coaches and students
comply with school policies, planning summer clinics, coordinating FIA’s participation in and
personally attending all three ISAC tournaments, etc. Experience in the Philippines and/or in other
international schools is beneficial. Cultural sensitivity is crucial for this role. Flexibility to teach
courses, such as Bible or electives, and help with coaching is a benefit.
IT Staff (all school)
FIA is seeking to add another information technologist/computer specialist to our IT department.
Specific background and skills in the following areas would be beneficial, although not required, for
this position: Windows active directory, network infrastructure, web development, general Windows
and Microsoft Office, general computer-related hardware, phone systems, servers, and backups. The
ability to collaborate with foreign and Filipino staff is critical to success in this role. A minimum of a
bachelor’s degree and/or 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
HR Coordinator (all school; supported staff)
FIA is seeking a human resources coordinator to work with the supported (missionary) staff. The
position would include member care, spiritual and emotional support, cultural support, and help for
new staff members transitioning to Davao. This is a new position, so a creative and visionary person
would have the opportunity to work with the FIA administration to further define the role. A
counseling or human resources background would be a benefit.
Recruitment Coordinator (all school; supported staff)
FIA is seeking an energetic, creative, and committed recruitment coordinator. FIA is staffed mainly by
missionaries who are often transient, so recruiting supported staff is critical to the school’s
sustainability. Effective organizational and communication skills are critical for this position.

Davao is a wonderful place to live! It is a friendly, mid-sized city with good infrastructure, healthcare, opportunities for recreation and a wide variety of amenities.
English is widely spoken in the area which makes it easier for staff members to settle in and experience the local community and interact with their Filipino neighbors.
Staff members at Faith International Academy are supported through Christian mission agencies. Teachers applying should be qualified for their teaching position in their home country.
