Professional Development
Professional development in elementary science teaching was the initial thrust for Teachers In Service back in 1997. Over the years a few areas of have been added. These areas include brain-based learning, professional learning communities, reading and writing, curriculum, profile of graduates, and AP English and math. When desired, many of these areas can be modified to become a graduate level (not undergraduate), university course through Seattle Pacific University. SPU is fully accredited and many states will accept the hours towards maintaining a teaching credential. Please contact us for more information for you and your school.
For professional developers who would like to partner with TIS and to work with MK teachers and schools please contact us. These are unsalaried, volunteer partnerships.
