With regard to the calling by God

1. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. (John 15:16)

2. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. (Ephesians 1:11)

3. For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. (Colossians 1:9)
