What better way to start your teaching career off meaningfully than by teaching overseas?

Our student teachers learn about the world and cross-cultural living firsthand. The ultimate goal to aid student teachers at FIA is to provide an environment in which they can gain teaching experience and increase their understanding of missions and Christian education.

The ideal FIA student teacher has completed or is nearing completion of a teacher education program and has some practicum or student teaching experience in his or her home country. He or she is sponsored by a mission and possibly an overseas student teaching program, such as  Christian College Teacher Education Coordinating Council (CCTECC), and has participated in some form of cross-cultural experience or training before arriving at the school.

Qualified applicants must exhibit personal characteristics that are necessary for working and living cross-culturally, as well as show evidence of a vital spiritual life and an interest in missions and children of missionaries.

Applicants should be able to commit to at least six to eight weeks in a training placement and notify us of their interest at least six months before the assignment is to begin.
