Pokhara Study Centre

The International Nepal Fellowship (INF) is a Christian mission that’s been serving poor people and communities in Nepal for 65 years through our life-changing health and community work. Our Health Services Department runs 3 hospitals that focus on caring for people with disabilities, providing high quality holistic care grounded in our Christian values of service, compassion and excellence.

Our Community Development Department works with some of the most isolated and marginalized communities in Nepal, giving them the confidence and skills to develop their communities and grow out of poverty. You can find out more about our work here  and in this short film [film removed].

We have a staff of around 300 Nepalis, supported by a team of around 20 western mission personnel, all of whom are experts in their field and who are key advisors in our work.

As a teacher in INF, you’ll play a vital role in supporting this life-changing work. Our Pokhara Study Centre is a vital service to this community, providing quality education for children of our team members from pre-school up to age 12. It’s a small and close community of 15– 30 children under the leadership of an experienced head. We urgently need a couple of teachers to join our team so that we can provide the quality of education that our children need.

You will need to able to teach children of different ages from pre-school up to twelve and be able to use various international English curricula. We are looking for teachers able to commit to one year’s service and longer, but are also willing to accept teachers for two school terms (approximately six months). A full job description for this post is here to find out more or express an interest in this post, please contact recruitment.

The school year includes four terms from early August to the end of June. The Government of Nepal currently requires a Masters Level qualification in order to provide a visa for this post.

All of our mission personnel must be fully supportive of our Christian mission and values and raise their own financial support. We partner with a number of Christian sending agencies such as International Nepal Fellowship that are able to support you to do this.

All INF’s volunteers are supported with the practicalities of finding housing, language and orientation and on-going fellowship and pastoral care. You’ll join a committed team of remarkable people from around the world.

The Study Centre enjoys a peaceful location on our Green Pastures Hospital complex in the beautiful town of Pokhara, Nepal’s third largest city.  Pokhara is considered the gateway to the Annapurna range of the Himalayas for trekkers and mountain climbers, and has a multitude of outdoor activities that attract tourists from around the world.
